WM Eric Trodd

I am delighted to welcome you to the
Priory Gate Lodge website.

Here you will find details about the aims of Freemasonry, what we do for the wider community and how by joining our Lodge you can become part of one of the oldest fraternal organisations in the world.

One of the greatest pleasures of Freemasonry is its ability to bring together men from all possible walks of life in a common bond.

I hope you find our website informative and I look forward to welcoming you at one of our meetings in the coming year.

Sincerely & Fraternally

W.Bro. Eric Trodd PPGW.
Worshipful Master.

Priory Gate Lodge was consecrated on January 30th 1968
and is recorded in the Register of the United Grand Lodge of England; Number: 8202.

The Lodge is very fortunate to have a wide diversity of ages, professions and faiths amongst our membership and over its 40 plus year history, it has grown into one the largest Lodges in the Province of Surrey.

We hold five regular meetings a year,  on the 2nd Saturday of October, March and the 3rd Saturday of November and January at Chertsey Masonic Hall, our Installation Meeting is held on the 2nd Saturday of May.

Meetings usually commence at 16:00hrs followed by a Festive Board.  Dates can be found here.

The Lodge is privileged to have a very active Class of Instruction which is strongly supported by all our Brethren and its reputation for the quality of its ritual is only possible because of the dedicated support of its Past Masters. We also warmly welcome Brethren from other Lodges who wish practice their ritual and join in our classes. The Lodge strictly follows the ritual laid down by the Emulation Lodge of Improvement.

What is Freemasonry ?

Freemasonry is one of the world's oldest non political, multi-faith, charitable, fraternal societies of men who are concerned with social, moral and spiritual values. Members are expected to be of good character and to maintain an honest and moral approach to their lives. Self-knowledge and a respect for others is taught through participation in a progression of two-part dramas which follow ancient forms and use the traditional customs and tools of the Stonemason as symbolic guides.

There are as many reasons for becoming a Freemason as there are members, everyone is different. For some, it’s about making new friends and acquaintances, for others it’s about being able to help deserving causes but for most, it is an enjoyable hobby in the company of similarly minded people drawn from every walk of life.
